Symbiotic microorganisms exist in the body of many insects, and they have various effects on the physiological functions of the host. Among them, the central research theme is “reproductive manipulation,” in which symbiotic bacteria change the reproductive mode of host insects, and we are working to elucidate the molecular mechanism using model symbiotic systems.
