To Sapporo New Chitose Airport

From Sapporo New Chitose Airport To AIST Hokkaido (BPRI)
1. Airport bus (operated by CHUO BUS or HOKUTO BUS)
Take Airport bus (To Sapporo downtown through Tsukisamu) at Bus stop 13 or 24, which departs every 10 min. during daytime. After approx. 1 hour journey, get off the bus at “Sapporo Dome Mae.” Walk according to the above map for 10 min.
2. JR (Japan Railway) and subway
Take “Rapid Airport” train bound for Sapporo Station at New Chitose Airport Station, which departs every 15 min during daytime. After 40 min. journey, change to subway “Toho Line” at Sapporo Station. Take a subway train bound for “Fukuzumi.” After 20 min. ride, get off the train at the last station, “Fukuzumi” and go up through Exit 4. Walk according to the above map for 20 min, or Take taxi.

USING TSUKUBA EXPRESS (TX)
Take a train (rapid service, 45 min. or semi-rapid service, 52min.) from Akihabara Station and get off at Tsukuba Station (next to the Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal). Take exit A3 for public transportation or AIST shuttle bus.
1. Public bus (operated by Kanto Tetsudo)
Take the Kanto Tetsudo bus going to “Arakawaoki Station (West Entrance) via Namiki” or “Ami Chuo Kominkan” from platform #4 at Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal. Get off at “Namiki 2-chome (namiki nì-chomé)” . Walk 3 minutes to AIST Tsukuba Central.
2. Taxi
Take a taxi at Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal. It takes approximately 15 minutes and it costs about 1,500 yen.
3. AIST shuttle bus (operated on weekdays)
Take a free AIST shuttle bus from a platform for private buses. It stops at AIST Tsukuba West or East before AIST Tsukuba Central. Several NIMS shuttle buses go to AIST Tsukuba Central via NIMS and AIST Tsukuba East.(From June 1, 2009) You may take the free NIMS buses at the same bus stop. Please note that the shuttle buses are small vehicles and they may not be able to carry all visitors.

USING HIGHWAY BUSES
Take a highway bus (co-operated by JR and Kanto Testudo) going to “Tsukuba Center” or “Tsukuba Daigaku (University)” from JR Highway Bus Terminal at Tokyo Station. It will take approximately 65 minutes (depending on traffic conditions) and it costs 1,180 yen for a one-way ticket. Get off at “Namiki 2-chome (namiki nì-chomé)” and walk 3 minutes to AIST Tsukuba Central.

USING AIRPORT BUSES
Haneda Airport – Tsukuba Center (bus terminal) : Costs 1,850 yen one way, takes approximately 120 minutes
Narita Airport – Tsukuba Center (bus terminal) : Costs 2,600 yen one way, takes approximately 120 minutes
Ibaraki Airport – Tsukuba Center (bus terminal) : Costs 1,030 yen one way, takes approximately 60 minutes
