We are working on detecting unknown biological pathways and functions by bioinformatics analyses and experimental validation. Using this approach, we have discovered a novel pathway for ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides in filamentous fungi and a novel gene regulatory function by amino acid tandem repeats. Using these achievements, we aim to construct host strains for bioactive compound production with high yielding and wide adaptability.
