We are investigating the biosynthetic and transcriptional regulatory mechanisms of useful plant secondary metabolites, mainly triterpenes, and developing useful metabolite production technologies based on these mechanisms. We are also working on the development of transformation and genome editing technologies to accelerate development of host plants for useful metabolite production.
