微生物生態工学研究グループの黒田 恭平 研究員が筆頭著者として執筆した論文「High-rate cotreatment of purified terephthalate and dimethyl terephthalate manufacturing wastewater by a mesophilic upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor and the microbial ecology relevant to aromatic compound degradation」が日本水環境学会の論文奨励賞（廣瀬賞）に選出されました。本論文では、ポリエチレンテレフタレートの原料製造廃水の一括処理技術の開発とその新しい処理機構の提案を行いました。この成果は国際学術誌「Water Research」にオンライン掲載され、産総研公式ページの研究成果でも紹介しています。
