In our previous work, we identified a regulator of primary ell wall formation in plant. In this study, we succeeded in increasing the ratio of primary cell wall of plant by expressing the regulator in fibers. In this plant, we observed unexpected reduction of lignin. We consider this strategy may be useful to increase cell wall biomass in monocot plant in which primary cell wall is relatively abundant. We published this result in “Frontiers in Plant Science”.
